Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Assist in translating business needs into AI/ML capabilities that support institutional goals.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate ML solutions into WGU’s systems.
- Participate in the ML lifecycle, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Familiarity with ML techniques, deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and cloud-based big data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Familiarity with MLOps tools and workflows (e.g., Databricks, MLFlow, Sagemaker).
- Understanding of scalable, distributed systems and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Knowledge of stream-processing systems (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming) is a plus.
Qualifications:
- B.S. and M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Math, Physics, or related fields (Ph.D. is a plus).
- 3+ years of professional experience in a business environment.
- 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
- 2+ years of experience working in an AI/ML context alongside Data Scientists or ML Engineers.
