The Emerging Projects portfolio under the Boeing India Engineering (BIE) Digital Solutions team is currently looking for a Associate UX/UI Developer to join their team in Bangalore. This team develops software applications and solutions that create direct value for aviation customers. Position Responsibilities:

• Able to produce a User Interface design specification for the current product UI implementation. This person must be able to use UX best practices to identify key usability issues with the existing product and justify development investments in terms of user productivity benefits.
• Works with the Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics Global Product Design team using a common UXD frame-work and delivers superior user experiences across the portfolio of solutions in a uniform and standardized manner.
• Collaborates on the evolution of the UX/UI standards with the Boeing Digital Aviation Global Product Design team.
• Works closely with Bangalore development team on approved design processes, tools and technology.
• Can follow the broad set of business requirements from business stakeholders and contribute towards designs solutions using user-centered design principles.
• Uses UX best practices to identify key usability issues.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams including Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics Global Product Design, product management, business analysis, and engineering to define, design and implement clear, contemporary/modern, and consistent solutions for the product direction that are consistent with the established design standards.
• Provides periodic updates to Boeing project teams and Design manager in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents.
• Coordinates and communicates regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world including design collaboration and design reviews with Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics Global Product Design.
• This position is in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in India.
• This position will support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, mentoring, customer engagement etc.
• This position may require some travel within India and internationally.

Desired Skills:

• Must have hands-on work experience with Sketch and InVision.
• Good to have applied experience using Apple HIG design standards.
• Must have significant applied experience using Google’s Material Design standards for web apps.
• Must have strong applied experience in User Experience Design (UXD) including human interaction design, user/persona research, interface design, usability optimization, UXD frame-work and architecture across multiple devices and platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to create positive impact for customers by developing polished, cohesive, effective, and user-friendly applications for large and complex aviation systems.
• Ability to understand and communicate with technical experts over a wide range of technical topics.
• Must be able to work with team members and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.
• Teamwork is important in this position; individual must have strong teambuilding skills. Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish results through colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and partners, even when they are not direct reports. Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time-zones.
• Understands the structured, iterative, and agile software development processes.
• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside.
• Communication – strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI). Candidate must be fluent in English, and have expertise in using MS Office tools using Apple laptops.
• Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
• Experience with user interface prototyping techniques is a plus
  
  

Qualification:

• 4+ years of relevant hands on experience in UX (User Experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction/User Experience Design, or equivalent experience, is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Candidates with experience in Aviation domain will be preferred.
• Experience working in a global organization is preferred.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 12 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 11 years' related work experience.
