What this job involves:
Your primary duty is to support the Legal Team in India on legal and compliance matters. Your role involves providing support to each of the firm’s business interests and commercial objectives.
Drafting, negotiating and monitoring commercial contracts for the property and asset management business such as services agreements, RFPs, consultancy agreements, NDAs, purchase orders, legal notices and other legally binding documents for the company, clients and vendors.
Assist and advise on general corporate, commercial and regulatory work, with a focus on the issues associated with the real estate services industry. You will also be assisting in the firm’s legal and compliance projects.
Mitigate legal risk by tactfully implementing legal strategy and exploring new legal regimes.
Review and analyze internal legal & contracting processes and framework.
Identify and manage risk exposures and delivering proactive, effective and solutions for operations in India.
Detect legal risks and contractual liabilities in the organization and provide advice on possible non-compliance issues.
Manage initial assessment of legal issues, on-site incidents and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve the concerns.
Maintain incident management repository for tracking and reporting on incidents on-sites managed / supported by the company and assist in the management of the legal response process.
Direct interaction and collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external parties such as clients, vendors, statutory authorities, and other third parties.
Stay updated on legislation, regulation and judgements applicable to the organization.
Track litigation matters that are assigned, including research on labour and compliance advisory
Be comfortable with tech tools such as Manupatra, SCC Online, GPT
Sounds like you? To apply you need to be:
LLB degree from a recognized University in India
Minimum of 2-3 years’ prior relevant experience in commercial transactional work or real estate advisory in private practice or an in-house position
Knowledge of Indian laws including but not limited to corporate and commercial laws, labour laws, data privacy laws, real estate laws etc
General understanding of litigation & contracting systems or programs and identifying potential legal risks;
General knowledge of compliance management, data privacy, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, cybersecurity, workplace harassment, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
Proficiency in English;
Be organized and structured in maintaining repository
Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
Experience in drafting and vetting contracts;
Ability to research on the matters as per requirement;
Ability to handle business relationships.
Excellent analytical skills so as to analyse and opine on various statutory provisions;
Willingness to travel within India for official work.
