Job Description
As a trusted partner to both the hiring manager and the HR Business Partner, you will work collaboratively to gain a deep understanding of our business and the industry and ensure a first-rate candidate experience for all candidates. Being a Talent Acquisition expert, you will be adept in hiring across a wide range of disciplines including, Business Legal Affairs, Finance, HR and Tech and have a plethora of experience in fully owning senior-level recruitment.
As a passionate advocate for Diversity & Inclusion, you will also ensure our hiring practices uphold and reflect our values and ongoing commitment to diversity.
You will take full ownership of the end-to-end recruitment process for your roles including:
- Hiring Manager Partnership: Acting as a true business partner, providing insight and guidance throughout the process, from JD writing and candidate profiling, through to interviews and assessments.
- Ad Writing: Creating compelling and compliant copy for all roles, ensuring alignment with BBCS Brand and values.
- Sourcing: Searching for and engaging with active and passive talent, utilising search tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, as well as own network.
- Selection: Conducting thorough candidate pre-screens and submitting considered shortlists to your hiring manager for each role.
- Interviews: Defining and overseeing the interview process, ensuring all processes are consistent and equitable.
- Candidate Experience: Accountable for a positive candidate experience, ensuring feedback & updates are regularly communicated in a timely fashion.
- Offer: Lead the offer delivery process, handling all negotiations, utilising market insights to provide advice on total reward.
- Onboarding: Ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to the relevant onboarding teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning the recruitment process for all high-profile and senior roles within the Corporate & Distribution businesses for your areas.
- Be a critical decision-maker in the interview process, conducting robust behavioural/competency interviews to ensure we continue to hire only the best people.
- Fully immerse yourself within our business and industry to become a trusted and valued partner to all hiring managers, demonstrating a consultative style that provides relevant metrics and industry insights, advises on inclusive recruitment practices, and influences forward-thinking hiring approaches.
- Ensure all aspects of the recruitment process, from advertising, sourcing and selection through to interviews, support our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.
- Partner with internal DEI function and 3rd party DEI partners on various initiatives, as well as providing input on the continued evolution of our DEI recruitment programmes, seeking new potential partners and initiatives.
- Track and monitor all recruitment activity against key metrics, feeding back reports and findings to the wider business.
- Ensure compliance of hiring practices with legislation.
- Partner closely with the HRBPs on forward-planning/forecasting of hiring needs, ensuring recruitment practices align with the wider HR strategy.
- Regularly providing market insight to the Reward team on compensation and benefits
- Identify, plan, manage and attend internal and external networking events that will connect you directly with talent.
- Work with wider Talent Acquisition team to position the BBC as an employer of choice in the external market, enabling the BBC to attract the future skills and capabilities to deliver the BBC’s strategic priorities.
- Keep on-top of recruitment industry trends and best practices, sharing learnings with the wider Talent Acquisition and HR team.
- Be an ambassador for the function and represent the BBC Talent Acquisition team internally and externally (as appropriate).
- Ownership of TA projects: e.g. Success Factors integration, running Internal & External recruitment fairs, Early Careers initiatives, HM interview training, Employer Branding etc.
- As a senior recruiter within the team, provide mentorship, coaching and guidance to the rest of the team.
Minimum Criteria
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
- A proven track record of attracting and landing top candidates across multiple levels, including at the senior level, ideally within Finance, HR, Legal and Tech.
- A skilled interviewer with extensive experience in competency interviewing candidates at all levels.
- An expert at using LinkedIn as a recruitment tool.
- Strong consultative, service orientation with the ability to establish credibility and trust and develop positive relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Adept at leveraging data and insights to inform decisions, and comfortable utilising reporting and recruitment metrics to understand workload, performance and effectiveness of recruitment activity
Other Key Criteria
- Working technical knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations surrounding recruitment and selection practices.
- Being able to effectively consult, negotiate, and influence.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated organisation skills and ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Team-oriented and skilled at working within a collaborative environment.
- An appreciation of the high standards expected, and trust required when working with a high profile brand.
